Leadership Spokane delivers dedicated leaders that collaborate in order to grow an active and diverse network that serves and strengthens our communities.
Leadership Spokane is a training program and community network, founded in 1982. Each year, 50 emerging and established leaders from business, government and community organizations are selected to participate in the ten-month long, adult program. We also host an identical program for high school leaders to explore servant leadership.
Target Audience: Adult
Average Size: More than 50
Tuition: $2500 - $3500
The Leadership Spokane program is an intensive, 10-month commitment to personal growth, professional development and community service. Participants gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a citizen-leader and explore the tenets of servant leadership. At the same time, they develop a broad knowledge of the Spokane community and key issues facing the region. This knowledge is put into practice throughout the program through site visits and community service activities. Finally, participants build a strong local network while also learning to create a personal leadership vision and a plan to achieve it.
Target Audience: Youth
Average Size: 30 - 40
Tuition: Less than $500
Youth Leadership Spokane brings approximately 30 sophomores, juniors and seniors from all Spokane County public and private schools for an intensive, 10-month long program. Students develop an understanding and refine their roles as young servant leaders in the community, build skills in communication, learn about how Spokane County is governed and meet area leaders to become an important part of a key leadership network. The class also has the opportunity to tour important locations in the Spokane community; past locations include a TV station, the Police Academy, the Inland Northwest Blood Center, the Fox Theater, and the Spokesman Review.
