Community Leadership Program
Leadership Lafayette has a nine-month program held annually, between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Our flagship Community Leadership Program is comprised of a two-day Opening Retreat and eight monthly class sessions which are hosted on-site by prominent area businesses and community organizations and facilitated by community leadership thought leaders. The annual program graduates approximately 40 proficient community volunteers each May. To date, there have been 47 Community Leadership Program classes with more than 1,400 graduates. The curriculum highlights both individual professional development and civic engagement, including contemporary issues such as Building Collective Capacity. The program focuses on the development of Servant Leadership, seeking for graduates to contribute a positive influence within our community. Our goal is for all participants to develop an enduring passion for volunteerism. Class participants lead our annual Leadership Lafayette Volunteer Expo as their capstone project to engage our area volunteers with the nonprofit organizations they might serve in our community.
