Leadership Howard County is the critical force in preparing, inspiring, connecting and sustaining community leaders to make Howard County the best place to live, work and play.
The program was set in motion 34 years ago as a critical force in preparing and inspiring senior level leaders in Howard County. Since its inception, however, LHC has evolved into a comprehensive approach challenging youth, emerging leaders and senior leaders.

programming keeps alumni informed and connected through a variety of educational events, speakers and programs. Staying engaged with the Leadership community enables graduates to continue learning and using their experience and knowledge for the long-term benefit of our community.
With over 1,200 alumni, Leadership members are making a difference in hundreds of community organizations, and keeping Leadership Howard County a vibrant and growing organization for future leaders

Tuition: $2500 - $3500
designed to teach skills to young professionals living and/or working in Howard County who are viewed in their respective organizations as rising stars and have expressed an interest in community service. This program was launched in 2007 by Leadership Howard County and is now managed by Loyola University Maryland, at the Graduate Center in Columbia. ten-month leadership development program with an intense curriculum of civic information and leadership development. Through site visits, lectures and informal discussion, participants learn how major decisions are made and who makes them. The program also utilizes a team-building overnight retreat that allows participants to examine the concepts of leadership.
The program covers topics such as:
Business and economic development
Howard County history
Government and politics
Healthcare and aging
Housing and transportation
Quality of life: cultural and recreational opportunities
They also work in small teams on a project for a community based non profit

Tuition: $750 - $1000
designed for Howard County high school students who want to test their leadership capabilities outside the classroom. High school juniors take part in a four-month experiential learning program and community service project that asks them to solve real world problems.
