Since 1985 over 640 area residents have graduated from Leadership Franklin County (LFC) Community program. With the expanded offering in 2009 of Leadership Franklin County Youth, we are able to provide more opportunities for leadership skills development to a broader audience. Designed and delivered by volunteer community and business leaders who firmly believe in the program, LFC provides a unique venue for personal and professional development. LFC is a program of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation.

LFC Community is the flagship leadership program founded in 1986. Our mission: “Developing an inclusive continuum of civic leaders engaged in the advancement of the quality of life in Franklin County” Participants are chosen via an application/interview process and complete a nine month course where they learn about leadership and their community. Designed and delivered by a dedicated base of community volunteer business leaders, our LFC program provides a unique venue for personal and professional development. LFC steering committees (most members are LFC alumni) deliver these quality programs year after year.

LFC Youth began in 2009 with the mission to create a community of young people who are actively engaged in responsible, ethical and effective leadership. Key curriculum components of LFCY include: The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, Encourage the Heart PLUS Community Awareness and Service Learning
The program is open to a selected group of 25-30 incoming sophomore high school students (public, private or home schooled) in Franklin County, PA. Recruiting & class selection occurs during early spring of the student\\\\\\\'s freshman year. Orientation and a retreat are the summer leading to the student\\\\\\\'s sophomore year - sessions then run Sept - April of their sophomore year in high school.
