Introduction
The Association of Leadership Programs (ALP) is dedicated to advancing the effectiveness of Community Leadership Programs and professionals by providing educational opportunities, recognizing excellence, fostering innovation, and building networks. As part of our mission, we conduct a biennial Benchmark Survey to equip our members with valuable insights for measuring and comparing their programs, understanding best practices, and identifying emerging trends in the field.
We are seeking proposals from qualified vendors to design, implement, and analyze the 2025 Benchmark Survey. This survey should include qualitative and quantitative research methods to provide a comprehensive understanding of the state of Community Leadership Programs, identifying trends and their evolving needs.
Project Objectives
- Develop and administer a survey to ALP members and select non-members, incorporating approximately 100-150 questions to capture critical data on community leadership programs.
- Aggregate and analyze responses to identify trends, best practices, and benchmarks while ensuring the confidentiality of individual program data. Then, through a detailed analysis and summary report, provide ALP members with actionable insights.
Scope of Work
The selected vendor will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with ALP to design the survey and interview questions.
- Administering the survey to ALP members, including follow-up reminders to encourage participation.
- Analyzing data from the survey to produce a summary report and a detailed analysis report.
- Ensuring timely delivery of all project components according to the proposed schedule.
Timeline
- RFP Distribution: February 10, 2025
- Proposals Due: February 28, 2025
- Vendor Selection: March 7, 2025
- Draft Survey Questions Submitted to Vendor: March 21, 2025
- ALP Approval of Questionnaire: April 4, 2025
- ALP Approves Communication and Provides Contact Information: April 14, 2025
- Survey Distribution to Participants: April 25, 2025
- Survey Completion Deadline: May 16, 2025
- Data Analysis and Reporting: June 6, 2025
- Presentation of Findings: July 2025 at the ALP National Conference in Fort Worth, Texas
Deliverables
- A finalized survey with options to further expand benchmark areas of interest for members approved by ALP.
- Execution of the survey, including follow-up communications to ensure robust participation.
- A summary report highlighting key findings and trends.
- A comprehensive analysis report with detailed insights and recommendations for members.
- A presentation of findings during the 2025 ALP National Conference (a suggested slide deck, no physical travel to the conference venue is required)
Submission Requirements
Proposals should include:
- Vendor Information: Company name, contact information, and relevant qualifications.
- Proposed Methodology: Approach to survey design, implementation, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience: Examples of similar projects conducted and references.
- Timeline: Detailed schedule aligning with the proposed project timeline.
- Budget: Total cost, including a breakdown of expenses.

Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Demonstrated expertise in survey research and data analysis.
- Understanding of the Community Leadership Program landscape.
- Proposed methodology and alignment with ALP’s objectives.
- Cost-effectiveness and value provided.
- Ability to meet the proposed timeline.
