Nicole Morristell Named Volunteer of the Year

Nicole Morristell Honored with Inaugural ALP Volunteer of the Year Award

DENTON, Texas – August 19, 2024 – The Association of Leadership Programs (ALP) is proud to announce that Nicole Morristell, Executive Director of Leadership Lackawanna (PA), has been awarded the inaugural ALP Volunteer of the Year Award. This newly established award recognizes outstanding volunteer contributions that have made a significant impact within the Association of Leadership Programs and the Community Leadership Program industry.

Nicole Morristell has been a dedicated volunteer with ALP for many years, consistently demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the organization's mission to enhance the effectiveness of leadership programs and professionals. Her leadership, creativity, and tireless efforts have helped elevate ALP's programs and events, benefiting countless individuals and communities.

Lura Hammond, Executive Director of the Association of Leadership Programs, praised Morristell's contributions, stating, "Nicole's dedication and passion are truly inspiring. She has gone above and beyond in every volunteer role, bringing innovative ideas and boundless energy to every project she undertakes. We are delighted to honor her as the very first recipient of the ALP Volunteer of the Year Award."

Nicole's volunteer work has spanned various ALP initiatives, including supporting national conferences, developing educational resources, championing the ALP ambassador program, and mentoring emerging leaders. Her ability to connect with people and foster collaboration has been instrumental in the success of ALP.

"I am deeply honored to receive this award," said Morristell. "I absolutely believe in the Association of Leadership Programs and have volunteered faithfully for 13+ years. I credit this organization for helping me grow personally and professionally. I also believe that my involvement with ALP has helped transform Leadership Lackawanna into the amazing nonprofit that it is today. My dedication and involvement with ALP come naturally because it’s just an extension of my job and I love what I do. I am so incredibly passionate about community leadership."

The ALP Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Nicole Morristell at the 2024 ALP National Conference in Providence, Rhode Island. This award sets a new standard for volunteer excellence within the organization, and Nicole's exemplary service will undoubtedly inspire others to contribute to ALP's mission.
