Learning Session: Civic Matchmaking for the Wave of Retiring Baby Boomers: Are You Ready?

Cora Scott is the Director of Public Information and Civic Engagement for the City of Springfield. As the main spokesperson for the local government, she responds to an average eight media inquiries a day and assists City departments with presentations for City Council and the general public. Her signature projects include the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival, Zone Blitz, Give 5 and the educational renewal campaigns for the Police-Fire Pension Fund, ¼-Cent 8-Cent & Capital Improvement & Transportation Sales Taxes and Level Property Tax.

Cora joined the City in 2012 after serving for 18 years in various communication leadership roles at Mercy. She has a B.A. in communication with emphases in journalism and writing from Drury University.
